Cape Naturaliste College is represented on the Busselton Choose Respect committee and fully support its objectives. Many of the difficult situations facing school age students could be helped by actively promoting the understanding the awareness of respect through our community. Choose Respect will strengthen the impact of the respectful culture we foster in our school.

Waratah believes that abuse, assault and violence against children, young people, females, males and families is preventable. A ‘sense of community’ and ‘sense of belonging’ can be achieved with the Choose Respect initiative, where community members come together and work together for a safer, more respectful and harmonious community to live in.
Trudi Ruane, Chief Executive Officer
The Busselton Football & Sportsman’s Cub is happy to promote the “Choose Respect” brand and filter it through our playing groups, Committee, Coaches and Members as it something we believe should be adapted in all aspects of sport, spectating, umpiring, work or home life. “Choose Respect” is a great initiative that all of Busselton needs to support.
We at Busselton Taxis are very keen to be involved and stay involved with the Choose Respect Busselton Project, as Taxis are seen in the community regularly we are keen to have the Choose Respect Stickers on all our vehicles. We think the Choose Respect message needs to be seen and heard by as many people as possible in our Community so we can all Work, Live and Play in our City and treat each and all respectively in every walk of life.
Busselton Police support endeavours which aim to improve safety within our community. The Choose Respect project focusses on empowering individuals to stop and think about their behaviour, consider if it is appropriate and more importantly, how they would feel being treated in a similar manner. The demonstration of mutual respect can only aid in reducing aggression and frustration within our community hopefully resulting in a better and safer environment for everyone.
Senior Sargeant Joason Van der Ende
As a Busselton City Councillor and supporter of 'Choose Respect', I fully endorse the program. 'Choose Respect' is all encompassing. It has influence at the grassroots which is the very best place to change attitudes, behaviours and ultimately habits. There's a lot of negative sentiment in communities which is often directed at our youth. This program aims to imbed a sense of respect amongst all members of the community with particular focus on youth. But the 'Choose Respect' message resinates with everyone - young and old. It's focus is positive and its application is simple. The program serves to remind us that we deserve respect and that others deserve our respect. While the message is simple, the impact is powerful. Embracing respect is at the very heart of ensuring our community stays vibrant, positive and safe.
